Liverpool and Rangers set for historic battle of Britain
On Tuesday, Liverpool will be competing against Rangers in a battle of Britain, while Barcelona will try to increase the amount of pressure that is placed on Inter manager Simone Inzaghi by winning the Champions League.
An army of Glasgow Rangers supporters will travel south of the border to descend on Merseyside for a Group A match that will provide them with another opportunity to secure their first point. The match will take place against a Liverpool team that is now in second place, behind Napoli.
After suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of league leaders Bayern Munich earlier this month, Xavi’s team will begin their third Group C encounter level on points with out-of-sorts Inter. This comes after Barca rose to the top of the La Liga standings over the weekend.
Bayern will be expected to keep their perfect record against Viktoria Plzen, and Serie A table-toppers Napoli will go to Ajax with the intention of continuing their fantastic start to the season. Both teams will be playing for first place in their respective leagues.

It is very likely that this will be the first time that Liverpool and the Glasgow giants have faced each other in a European competition.
The Gers have played seven away games in England, but they have only managed to come away with one victory. That victory came in the Champions League against Leeds United in November 1992, and it was won by a score of 2-1 thanks to goals scored by Mark Hateley and Ally McCoist. They have been victorious twice, but have also experienced six defeats.
The last time Liverpool competed in the European Cup against a team from Scotland was in the 1980-1981 season, when they defeated Alex Ferguson’s Aberdeen 5-0 over the course of both legs of their match (1-0 away, 4-0 home). The Reds ended up becoming victorious in the competition that they had entered that year.
With a record of 13 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss in their last 15 home Champions League group stage matches, the team coached by Jurgen Klopp has amassed a total of 36 goals while doing so. In November of 2020, they suffered their one and only loss at the hands of Atalanta.
In both of their games so far, Rangers have been held scoreless by their opponents. In point of fact, only Plzen (2) and Sevilla (3) have had fewer shots on target than the Scottish team (4) in the first two matches of this season. The Scottish club has had four.
