Buhari honours Jonathan, Wike, others with service awards
Vice President Goodluck Jonathan and forty-three other notable Nigerians will be honored at a ceremony attended by President Major General Muhammadu Buhari Muhammadu Buhari (ret.).
The meeting is now underway at the Presidential Villa’s Conference Room in Abuja.
Some of the other recipients of accolades are the president of the senate, Ahmad Lawan, the speaker of the house, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the heads of the armed forces. Rivers State’s governor, Nyesom Wike, is among them.
The purpose of the Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service is to recognize outstanding leadership, service, or humanitarianism on the part of a Nigerian citizen or to honor the achievements of a state or local community that benefits the whole country.
A live Public Official or private individual who is at the forefront of service and innovation in their field and who has maintained a high moral character throughout their career is eligible to receive this award.
