Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Manchester City ended an entertaining Premier League match week.
What happened this match week and what to expect next:
Salah defeats City
Liverpool beat Manchester City for the first time this season thanks to Mohammed Salah’s winner.
The Egyptian sped past Joao Cancelo and Ederson after controlling Alisson’s 76th-minute clearing.
Manchester City missed several chances. Phil Foden’s second-half goal was disallowed due to a foul by Erling Haaland on Fabinho.
Liverpool blocked City’s first goal in 19 Premier League games. They’re now sixth with 13 points, while the champs are second with 23.
Arsenal four points clear
Arsenal are four points clear after beating Leeds United 1-0 courtesy to a half-time goal by Bukayo Saka.
Arsenal have 27 points, while Leeds has 9.
A power breakdown prevented the referee from communicating with VAR for 36 minutes, halting play.
Leeds had multiple chances to equalize after halftime, including Patrick Bamford’s failed penalty.
Gabriel Magalhaes was sent off in stoppage time after colliding with Bamford. Leeds were then granted a second penalty, but after a VAR review, both rulings were overturned. Gabriel’s red card was downgraded to a yellow card, and Arsenal was awarded a free kick instead of a penalty, handing Leeds United their first home loss of the season.

Old Trafford’s “draw soup”
Manchester United and Newcastle United played to a goalless draw at Old Trafford, just below third-place Chelsea.
The Red Devils are fifth with 16 points, while Newcastle is sixth with 15 points.
Mount’s splits
Mason Mount scored twice as Chelsea beat Aston Villa 2-0.
The win was the Blues’ fourth straight in all competitions under new manager Graham Potter.
The Blues remain fourth with 19 points, while Steven Gerrard’s team in 16th with nine.
Southampton’s comeback
Southampton overcame a four-game losing streak at home by drawing 1-1 with West Ham.
Declan Rice scored for David Moyes’ club after Romain Perraud’s 20th-minute goal.
They stay in the relegation zone at 18th, as West Ham moves to 12th.
Spurs overtake City
Tottenham beat Everton 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London, masterminded by Antonio Conte.
Harry Kane’s penalty sealed England’s win and gave them 23 points, the same as Manchester City, but they remain third due to goal difference.
Kane’s last nine games have featured an offensive run. EPL goat.
