Kanye West’s anti-Semitic posts got him banned from Instagram and Twitter.

Kanye West’s week has not been pleasant, at least not on social media. During this time, the American rapper was embroiled in one controversy after another, whether it was over his social media remarks or a T-shirt for his fashion business that said “White Lives Matter.”

After Instagram deleted his account, Twitter has now verified that his account was limited for rules violations on the famous microblogging site.

According to Katie Rosborough, a Twitter spokesman, the account was restricted after West, who now goes by “Ye,” made an anti-Semitic remark on the platform.

“The in question account has been locked owing to a violation of Twitter’s standards,” she explained.

“I’m tired tonight, but when I wake up, I’m going death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” The irony is that I can’t be anti-Semitic because black people are also Jews.

“You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball everyone who opposes your agenda,” read the whole message, as published by BuzzFeed News. While the tweet has now been removed, some people on the network have already grabbed screenshots and posted them.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX (and most likely future owner of Twitter, unless he gets more theatrical) greeted West’s return to the microblogging site.

“Good to have you back on Twitter, my friend!” Musk tweeted on October 8, just after the rapper issued his first tweet in nearly two years (since November 2020, to be more precise).

It begs the question, will Musk’s emphasis on free speech on Twitter (which he claims to be a strong supporter of) also include the unrestrained dissemination of anti-Semitic content?

The Friday tweet chastised Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg for booting him off Instagram.

On Friday, the tweet included a fuzzy image of Zuckerberg, West, and others singing karaoke, as well as the caption, “Look at this Mark, How you gone kick me off Instagram, You used to be my nigga.”

Instagram later stated that West had been banned off the photo-sharing social networking platform due to anti-Semitic statements.

On Friday, he posted a screenshot of a text chat between himself and musician Sean “Diddy” Combs in which he accused Diddy of being controlled by Jews. Unsurprisingly, this drew criticism from a number of organizations, including the American Jewish Committee (AJC), who condemned Ye’s posts.

“Kanye West’s week has consisted of: – Incoherent rants on the country’s leading cable news program laced with racist and antisemitic undertones. – Anti-Jewish posts shared with his 18 million Instagram followers. The AJC tweeted, “These posts are hazardous.”
