Kogi gov. gives flood victims Materials to help them.
On Friday, the Kogi State Government started sending aid to local government areas that were hit by floods.
Some of the things that make up the materials are vegetable oil, red oil, beans, gari, rice, and tomato paste.
After watching how the materials were given out, the Commissioner for the Environment, Chief Victor Omofaiye, talked to reporters and warned officials not to take the materials for other uses.
He asked the Federal Government, businesses, and people who care about helping others to do more to ease the suffering of the victims.
He also said that more aid supplies will be sent out in the next few days. He stressed that these supplies are only for people in the IDP camps.
Mr. Margret Akuh, who is the acting Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency, was also on site to keep an eye on the drill.
The local governments are: Lokoja, Kogi, Ajaokuta, Ibaji, Idah, Ofu, Igalamela-Odolu, Bassa Adavi and Omala.
